Nasty as hell down here right now but going to be passed me by the 4th

Sandy was a disaster, I remember that even up here in Maine. Though we didnt get anything nearly as bad as NY/NJ. Have to keep an eye on it though. Problem up here is that they a lot of times will hook into New York/ New England for a direct shore line hit.

Sandy was deemed only a Tropical Storm as well, that didn't turn out to great .
That didn't turn out to well because of a lot of factors like the storm sitting in one area a long time and Bellsouth FPL not spending the money on utility poles that would stand up to anything more than a Class 1 hurricane. Not that they'd taken billions of dollars by then for their infrastructure or anything/rant. But yeah, you never know what these storms will do I'm always happy when they pass by.

Also it didn't help that it was high tide on a full moon. It was just a combination of random occurrences which made the storm epic. The New England area doesn't know how to handle these things since they RARELY hit us. Hell, no major hurricane has hit the US since Katrina.

8' to 12' tidal surges I know , I was there . 120 homes in breezy point gone ,2 guys from my firehouse lived in Breezy, and had to live somewhere else for almost 12 to 15 months .
I just know if a storm bigger than a regular rain storm is hitting the rockaway peninsula , I will be a little more concerned this time around.

There now worried it will hook to the west after the Carolinas and toward NY/ New England. :(
