-Evolve to Carapace Shell
Upgrade Cost: 15 Team Resources
Upgrade Time: 15 seconds
Description: Evolves the Shell into a Carapace Shell, unlocking the Carapace evolution in the Evolve Menu. Carapace passively increases lifeform armor until death or deselection.
-Evolve to Regeneration Shell
Upgrade Cost: 10 Team Resources
Upgrade Time: 15 seconds
Description: Evolves the Shell into a Regeneration Shell, unlocking the Regeneration evolution in the Evolve Menu. Regeneration passively increases lifeform health regeneration outside of combat; any damage taken while Regeneration is in effect will reduce health regeneration to normal, and require 2 seconds to trigger Regeneration again.
- Allows you to build Krag Healer buildings that passivly heal buildings and aliens around it, or on "use" heals for a huge amount.
Shade Choice -
- Evolve to Silence Veil
Upgrade Cost: 10
Upgrade Time: 15 seconds
Description: Evolves the Veil into a Silence Veil, unlocking the Silence upgrade in the Evolve Menu. Silence passively renders the lifeform completely silent; it will not emit noise normally audible from attacking, moving, and taking damage.
- Evolve to Camouflage Veil
Upgrade Cost: 10
Upgrade Time: 15 seconds
Description: Evolves the Veil into a Camouflage Veil, unlocking the Camouflage upgrade in the Evolve Menu. Camouflage passively cloaks lifeforms standing still after 2 seconds. Invisibility lasts until player moves or attacks.
- Allows you to build a Shade building that Cloaks all aleins and buildings around it , and on "use" to spew out ink concealing more structures.

- Evolve to Celerity Spur
Upgrade Cost: 15 Team Resources
Upgrade Time: 15 seconds
Description: Evolves the Spur into a Celerity Spur, unlocking the Celerity upgrade in the Evolve Menu. Celerity allows the player to travel much faster than normal after going the same direction for several seconds. The speed boost quickly dissipates if any combat ability is used.
- Evolve to Adrenaline Spur

Upgrade Time: 15 seconds
Description: Evolves the Spur into an Adrenaline Spur, unlocking the Adrenaline upgrade in the Evolve Menu. Adrenaline passively increases energy regeneration for lifeforms.
What you get with more HIVES
- Allows you to build a Shift building that gives all aliens near by unlimited energy and on "use" Spawn 2 eggs at the cost of 5 Res.
One Hive
-The Alien Commander can evolve only one of three Hive archetypes: Crag Hive (Crag & Shell), Shade Hive
(Shade & Veil), or Shift Hive (Shift & Spur)
-The Alien Commander can research and unlock Evolutions for lifeforms.
Two Hives
-The commander ability Bone Wall is unlocked in the Assist Tab.
-The Alien Commander may choose to evolve a second Hive archetype.
-The Alien Commander can research and unlock the first tier lifeform abilities: Leap, Bile Bomb, Spikes, and Blink.
-The Alien Commander can research and unlock additional Evolutions for lifeforms.
Three Hives
-The Alien Commander may choose to evolve the final Hive archetype.
-The Alien Commander can research and unlock the second tier lifeform abilities: Xenocide, Umbra, Vortex, and Stomp.

Hive Build Times
Default build time: 180 seconds
1 Gorge/No shift: 115 seconds
1 Gorge/With Shift: 95 seconds
1 Gorge/With Shift/With Enzyme: 85 seconds.
As you can see, having a shift makes a pretty big difference, but Enzyme does not for 1 gorge. In fact, enzyme is a pretty big waste of rez considering it only boosts the speed by 10 seconds. Now with a 2nd gorge, it might be a much bigger difference.
