I have posted a thread about which monitor to buy. I continue to look into monitors and which one to buy. Is there anyone here that has purchased the Acer XB270HU?

It seems to be a good gaming monitor because it is 1440p resolution, 144hz refresh rate, 4ms response time and is an ISP Panel monitor. This all seems to be really good for my needs as I game alot and also to Photo editing with our business.

I am hoping someone out there has this panel and can offer some awesome input. The wife has Ok'd this upgrade since it would also work with our business.

I am also running 780 Classified SLI on the GPU setup. I would think it would be enough to game with.

To my knowledge that is the best gaming monitor on the market currently. If you're willing to dish out that kind of $$, you will not be disappointed.

I am willing to but also want to make sure my 780 Classified SLI GPU setup will give me good gaming results and also that it will offer better colors for my photo editing.

You should be fine with photo editing. It will definitely be better than any other gaming monitor that runs a TN panel for photo editing. I don't know what resolution you play at currently and FPS, but most people claim a 20-40+ FPS drop going from 1080p to 1440p. With current games out, you're going to be fine regardless. Obviously by the time BF5 drops you will want to consider an upgrade of GPU(s) if you don't want to adjust your quality.

I currently have a 1080p resolution and play BF4 and Hardline at about 100 to 120 FPS. With a higher resolution I should be able to turn my AA down to help with the GPU and with G-Sync I see most people say you game at about 40FPS and not notice very much.

If you want to take full advantage of the monitor then you're going to have to make some adjustments to the quality to keep the higher FPS. If you buy it from a retailer like Amazon, you can have the peace of mind knowing that if it's not 110% of what you expected, then you can return it without paying shipping/restocking fees. Just return it and say it's damaged.

I just pulled the trigger and bought the monitor. I am so pumped for this. I will just turn down some settings if I need to and maybe in the near future just buy a some type of Titan!!

It arrives on Monday. I will post pictures and benchmarks when I get it all going. I am stoked!!

nice.... the only thing about that monitor that I would like to improve on is the 4ms to 1ms... though I don't think it's possible without dishing out $800 to $1.200 dollars or something like that....

Will it honestly really matter? From what I heard and read as long as it is below 7ms.

It isnt the same specs though. It is an IPS or variant thereof. Almost all are except for that but that is big for me because I have a photography business.

Very good article thank you. I can see what you mean about the Asus and the Acer being about the same as far as quality of the panel. Of it all seems like a lottery pick but the numerous reviews I looked at compared the two and the Acer had the edge. The quality may not be a huge difference but it is non the less. Either pick is a leap ahead of my current 5 yr old Asus monitor and looking forward to my smooth Gsync game playing.

Well I got the monitor today and it is perfect. No dead pixals or dust behind screen as some have had. My 780 Classified SLI pushes it just nicely. I of course changed the resolution of BFH and turned AA off and it looks more amazing then 1080p with AA. The colors with this monitor or head and shoulders above the previous monitor. With all maxed out in BFH except AA I am still running 80 to 110 FPS with GSync enabled and 144hz set.

I know it was expensive but I absolutely love this monitor and do not regret it at all. I will never go back to 1080p or monitor that does not have some type of GSync on it.
