I caught the last hour of Coachella on youtube. Anyone who was there, saw it or read the news probably heard about it.

I wasn't sure what actor they had up there, I mean the broadcast version was perfect. But based on photographs at the concert it was obviously a hologram to anyone there. Became slightly obvious with the ending special effects but they cut the lights and its nothing I hadn't seen before.

So yeah 640 million twitter, facebook, G+ comments later 2Pac is still alive and people are asking for elvis next. I cant wait until 100 to 200 years from now I am sure when we are all dead and gone someone somewhere will seriously claim they are alive in corporeal form. 2Pac might live forever but not in hiding lol.

Good shit though.

Soulzz wants Jem next. Those who seen the cartoon growing up know who I'm talking about.

I was more surprised to find that Dr. Dre was still alive really... They did a great job with the hologram, it really looked like he was there for the most part except for the way his image was sometimes moonwalking to keep him in the frame.

Pretty awesome, but still, fuck rap

HA i didn't notice the glitches though I was coding at the time. Looking at a copy of the live broadcast video everything is actually the same but the angles suite the hologram a little better.

Something I finally notice is the light projection you can see the feet outline on the area below the stage.

man thats wicked! thatd be wicked to see him on stage even if it was just a hologram.

I had a feeling it was CGI, but the price I heard was $10 mil not $400k.

Any Hologram not captured of a not living person especially using non existent technology is CGI in some form. If it was purely CGI the audience would have seen nothing as it could only be played back on a monitor. The only point of that article is that the display technology was not actually holographic but my point would be is thats beyond the point :p
