Well, after walking 3 hours in 3ft deep snow, i got pissed at my boots, they looked as if someone took a piss on them.

What I'm looking for is a cure for this (probably not going to work as I have desert magnums), or some better boots

what i need:

Water resistance(preferrably proof)
Heat resistance
up to -40C cold resistance
Comfort
Desert or airman grey(pref. second)

I'd set my budget at around 100?/$130 +- 100

I know that some of you have been in afghan, my father was there with the soviets but all they had were absolute bullshit soviet boots OR footwraps, what works in afghan mountains, works for me.

Only two names worth looking at IMO as fat as military boots are Bellville or Danner. I'm not a fan of the longevity of Danners, but many swear by them. Bellvilles lasted forever. Still got mine from Iraq in 04-05.And they feel like sneakers

the hell is danner, ill have to check it out :D

edit: OH MY GOD THANK YOU RENNO!

Danners are great boots. Made here in Oregon:) Im an avid hunter and danners are the only boot I wear for snow, rain, whatever. Just need to keep em greased and your feet will stay dry. They run between $200 - $350 though but are worth every dollar.

I unno, my Danners fell apart through just over half of my year long deployment. My Bellevilles on the other hand last through an entire year and a half long deployment of much harder work. And they felt like heaven on your feet.

Here's the style I got:

Danner's are comfortable, the best boot IMO is still Timberland pro series. I wear mine 13 hours a day.

There are a few good choices presented thus far (I'm biased to Timberlands, personally), but the important bit is: care. If you don't want them to "look like someone pissed all over them," you need to waterproof them with some sort of oil or grease or whatnot. And it needs to be reapplied every so often, depending on the environment.

FWIW, I think your budget is a little low for what you're asking for.

havent tried the danners, heard good things though. I like the bellville havent had any big issues with them

Yah JVP is exactly right. Boots that are going to take some hardcore beatings need to be treated properly. And yes your budget is a tad low. You really get what you pay for with boots. Ive had cheap boots (Altama). Gave me blisters on the top of my feet every day. Since they were my first desert boots, I didnt know how long the break in period was. Everyone kept saying the deserts take longer. Well...they never broke in. Got myself a pair of Bellevilles and never looked back.
