Awesome video about the fastest Import Car in the world.

I wonder how much those guys spend on their cars monthly...

I like this Supra better...lol

That first one is fast as Hell though.

Oil money -_- .

It's about as supra as my dick is huge at this point. What's "supra" about it when every component in the car has been replaced?

You're telling me that an engine which originally produces 276 hp can be somehow "modded" to produce 800+? WTF... how does it not simply blow up/crack, and why didn't they make it 800hp to begin with if the drive train can handle the compression/detonation... ?

The cost of the components keep them out of the factory and insurance figures would be too high for 'normal' owner..
Also, hard to warranty a piece of equipment operating like this.
'Daily' drive-ability is hindered with this kind of power/setup.
It's still a supra because of the aerodynamics, engine block, suspension dimensions, weight distribution.. Small things but make a difference.

I can't believe a drag racer would make, or allow such a mistake to be made. THAT is NOT the fastest in the world. No one cares about the fastest car in drag racing. You can be quickest and fastest. But quickest is the ONLY thing that matters. Quickest = Shortest elapsed time = *winning.

*Unless of course were talking bracket or factoring in reaction time in an actual heads up race obviously that complicates things.

In professional drag racing, not so much world records the rules make the car. Back in 2005 I coulda quoted the then current NHRA Sport Compact rules for every class. The body paneling within a certain percentage of its normality make the car. Some asshole who wrapped a vega around a tube frame started all of that. Beyond that rules for a class go on to define some other aspects. In NHRA SC back then you could convert a FWD car to RWD, AWD to RWD but nothing else. Limits were 6 cylinder or 3 rotor and had to be from the same manufacturer. But this guy isn't running in that just giving some idea for you.

As far as the 2JZ Block goes. The design is solid and even using a stock block you can sleeve the block. Block sleeving is pretty standard whether its a race block or not if your going this nuts. Its very similar to the Nissan RB series used mostly in the older Skylines as well as the Stagea etc. People have been known to "daily drive" 800 HP on a stock block. It takes some constant maintenance and if your driving like an idiot its not going to last anyways. If I was building a car around the platform I think a smart step would be to grab the GT500 RB26 block which is what they use in the touring cars. Its rated to run around the ring at 500 HP, 25 passes in the quarter is a piece of cake. Which I believe was the requirement for GM's 2.2 Ecotec stock crank, block and head at 600 hp.

I didn't pay too much attention to where the block was sourced but hell there was a 9 second Honda back when I was in school running a stock crank. They magnafluxed the cranks to check for cracks and if it passed the grade it made a couple passes and was replaced.

Rain the video says it's the fastest Supra not fastest car. Just clearing that up.

You know of a faster Supra in the 1/4 mile at that time/date? Or are you going by fastest as highest speed?

The issue is that the racer knows the difference. They were competing for elapsed time and therefor tryignto be the quickest and they were. I didn't hear any comparison on the trap speed from the previous record holder.

In NASCAR formula 1 or Indy the quickest car is the one with the shortest lap time or elapsed time. The fastest car in the race is statistically not the quickest and is a useless mention for the TV announcers. In drag racing its essentially the same the quickest car has the shortest elapsed time. How fast it was is the trap speed. Trap speed and 60 foot times are a good way to analyze the cars performance during the race for potential changes in gearing, power band placement and trouble with suspension and tires. But fastest isn't who ran the shortest elapsed time.

Its the English languages definition not just racing.

I didn't post the video to cause butt hurt just admire the car and be happy ...

There is no butt hurt. I made a statement. Bob was worried it was directed at you. It wasn't I clarified. He asked what was the problem in the video. Very simple
