I told fast when we started this conversion that instead of running some sort of ghei alert plugin I would float the nav bar on top of the page. Been working on this the last 2 days and its almost ready for public consumption.
The idea comes from www.arstechnica.com, if you scroll down on their site the menu bar fixes to the top of the screen. When you scroll to the top everything goes back where it was. Their example is easy, ours was a little more fun due to the user drop downs being on a second div.

I intend to add a go to top button on the bottom right as well.
I had hoped to get it done today, not so sure about that. Have some cleanup to do on high resolution tablets when changing orientation etc. Last couple weeks I have been working on a complete redo of the theme, this and the roster plugin. After that I will be redoing the navigation manager and at which point I will be ready to resume the Punkbuster Screen Shot app for the forum.
