BF1 Weapons Changes

Some talk about the weapons changes. Sniper distance, Bullet Velocity and others...

I can't wait to see the Sunday gameplay stream @ 2:00 pm PST. I hope a lot of doubters about the pace of the game and weapons will be resolved. I don't know how some people can already have a opinion of a game they haven't even seen yet. But I also realize there are games that some people just don't like, and you shouldn't look down on them for it, or say they are stupid for not liking what you like.

Until the gameplay is shown, I will use history of bad EA launches and false advertising. Because it's a game they get away with it. People were saying this about bf3 and bf4.

Case in point. Overwatch was a near flawless launch. Blizzard cares. I've had it with EA/DICE.

Case in counterpoint:
It's easy to rip on DICE/EA launches, but gameplay-wise, what was wrong with BF2,BF2142,BF3,BF4 launches.....(not counting server issues/things related to connection or player count)
And I'm not talking damage 'balance' as this is everchanging...Same as it is with your precious Blizzard example.

Remember Starcraft 2 Launch? Zerg Rush is O.P. - Terran too slow to defend rush..Protoss AIR unbeatable on 2-base after 10 minutes.....
Endless complaining....endless 'it's not balanced' complaints.

It's hard to complain against a gun in overwatch....after all, how much damage SHOULD a Plasma Sperm Gun do at 20 meters????

Nobody complained 15 years ago in Counterstrike Beta 5.5 (which I played) about ping....Everybody had 150-240 ping.
What was the damage per second of the UMP-45 vs the M4 colt in Countertrike?... There was no website with stats to compare Time to Kill percentages...
There were no hit markers, and even if there were, you didn't know the damage, so you couldn't say shit.

BF2 ruined choppers, BF3 combined assault and medic and made suppression OverPowered, BF4 ruined something....but I forgot what it was.......and so did everybody else.......

Because the guy that killed you,
is playing the same game,
with the same shitty hit-reg,
and the same shitty 'Netcode',
with the same 3 Overpowered weapons...
as you are.

The rail gun is not OP... is fair and balanced..... The Fox News of Battlefield

I'm saying games are more expensive for less content.

i brought that up at the meeting. BF1 is going to be 79.99 out the gate than you know they are going to do premium which will be another 49.99. It sounds like Overwatch is the best deal out there for 40 bucks and it will include all expansions in that cost. My wife and me don't have enough money to buy every game that "might be good" and than everyone stops playing it. What i really don't understand is why does a digital download game cost as much as what it costs to buy in the store where you get a box and disc?

Because gamers are dumb and we just accept it. No discs to manufacture, no boxes, no manuals, no distribution or logistics charges and no brick and mortar retailers taking a cut... but the digital download is still $59.99. Drives me up the wall... People say I'm a dinosaur for still buying physical copies, but if the prices are always going to be the same, I sure as shit better get a disc in a box D:.

I hope Dice developed a WW1 era stinger missile to take down the biplanes! :)

Far better will be inaccurate weapons at range, where properly placed bullets if close enough could either hit the pilot or something critical to flight.

It's not a ea issue it's a big publisher issue. Activision, Ubisoft, etc.

Also while I love me some overwatch the launch was not flawless. Plenty of your day one connection /server issues but more importantly character balance issues that have been present and complained about in the beta for 6 months.

Also though, comparing a simple game to a complex one ;)

Overwatch is simple. I mean its not a complicated game at all. The style is cheap, cartoonish. The job there is the balancing. Because it Blizzard, the balancing gonna take years. Diablo 3 was a fine example of Blizzard's precision game manufacturing too, and they care sooooooo much about the game and the players, they sold the fix for Diablo 3 as a new game for full price XD

Overwatch was far better compared to BF4. No comparison long term.

Not just that though; with the digital content the onus is on you do download the content meaning you're using up your monthly quota for internet or cable. Nobody talks about it much, but there are indeed still limits to what "unlimited" means. Generally that's 150-300gb per month depending on your provider so if you use 130gb downloading one of Dice's games you're fucked for the month if you're at the lower tier.

I buy the disc just for that reason plus it's quicker to just pop the disc in and install versus waiting for a huge ass download and then installation.

Lol... I wonder why I haven't had a nasty gram from twc then. I used about 400gb a month

Depends on your provider; sometimes they don't say anything but if it's a pattern then it's a problem, with others once over and you get hit with a hefty fee.

I've been wondering how DICE/EA will lower the bar for noobs to be able to enjoy BF1 (rather than force them to improve). I read from the official website:

You can even tell when your magazine is running out of ammo now - your firing sound slightly changes when your ammo is low.

It's in the "10 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW About the Weapons in Battlefield 1" section of this link
