BF2 problem

Okay,
So I loaded up BF2 last night, then the 1.41 patch. But when I went to play the game, I got an error message stating that I needed the disc in the DVD/CD player in order to play the game.

I checked, the disc was there, clean, free of scratches or dust, etc. So why do I get this message? Has anybody else encountered this problem?

If you have multiple optical drives it may want you to put the disc into the other one, i know some games do this to protect against ghost drives

Hmmm. I only have the one drive active. The other drive I have is not connected to power, and does not show in Windows. I could see how there could be confusion with multiple drives, but since I only have the one active I'm at a loss as to what the problem is; thanks for the suggestion though.
