Looking at a 2012 Subaru Impreza premium. 34k miles on the odometer. They're asking 15.9 for it. I am thinking about offering $14.9 cash. I test drove it today and I love it and I am looking for a car that can handle the harsh Maine winter ( last year was hell with my 2wd KIA). I've been looking at some Audi's as well but I think this car is just more comfortable in general. It was never owned ( was a lease car).

I would like some feedback from anyone who knows stuff about Subaru and advise me if this is a deal I should shoot for or should I keep looking. I'll be keeping my KIA as a back up car and possibly road trips as it gets very good fuel economy.

Here is the car

Not many people around me have a Subaru. But they are made for inclement weather for sure.

I like the Subies as they're very reliable and require minimum maintenance due to the boxer engine design. Yours, I do not think is @Turbo as it's not the WRX or STI. Price, I can't help you with as here in AZ vehicle prices are great due to zero rust on most vehicles.

i have a 2011 Subaru WRX Sti and i absolutely love it. def handles canada's shitty winters. although the price sucks ass, gonna be paying it off for the rest of my life lol

Looked it up on KBB and it's on the lower/central point of the fair market trade value. I'm going to wait for some more feedback and depending on what I see.... I may be offering tomorrow

I would recommend it if you plan to keep it for the next few winters. It will be a great cheap safe way to get anywhere at any time for the most part. Gets a thumbs up from me.

My coworker traded his BMW 335 for one. He misses the power, but thats it. Loves his new subie.

Might I make a specialized plate suggestion... SUBARWHO

I'm a long-time subscriber to Consumerreports.org. I checked out the ratings for you on the 2012 model. It received good ratings.

subaru are very good cars. If I didnt find my 2nd MINI, I ewould be driving a subaru impreza myself. They have great reviews, low maintenance and high reliability and AWD is standard. Helps with Buffalo or Maine winters. Price is fair as well. I say go for it and make the offer

Looks like a solid purchase to me, should be great in the snow and reliable and economical to maintain in the long run. If you're planning on keeping it for a long time, consider asking the dealer to throw in free rustproofing when you make the offer. I'd ask for a free set of winter rims and tires too. Can't hurt to ask, right? The worst they'll do is say no or counter your offer with a better deal.

Rustproofing is an absolute must on this car. If you live in an area where they salt the roads, subarus simply decay in a year or two without adequate rustproofing.

I suggested dealer rustproofing because they'll stand behind it and it only costs them about 30 dollars in materials before they mark it up to 500 plus.

I've never owned a Subaru, I do know a few people with the WRX STI and they're awesome cars. I've never heard anything negative about a Subaru. I actually was going to purchase a 2016 WRX STI, but I backed out since Subaru didn't stick with the concept design.

For those who are curious, this was what the 2016 WRX STI was going to look like, It's one sexy fucking piece of machinery. They kept some of the design obviously, but it is nothing like the concept.

Now if they'd just put some comfy leather seats in those bad boys I'd gladly get one. As it is with cloth seats, no thanks.

my stepfather found it cheaper to sell the car instead of dealing with the damages from the salty roads
