What is our stance on Commanders that don't speak/understand English? We've had a lot of Korean players lately, and some of them like to comm, but unable to communicate with the team at all. I sorta want to kick em from the Com chair, but there's about 4 or 5 of em that's been playing regularly.

If they are doing well i dont see a reason to kick them. Its the same issue if someone dosnt have a mic but is really good at using waypoints ect. Its a judgment call i guess, voting to eject may be the other option.

Typically most Asians understand English although speaking English is not there forte'. If he/she is doing a good job keep them.

if they are not braking any rules I would not kick them , think of it this way, would you kick a player just because they suck at the game ?

Going to have to disagree with you Fube, The commander in NS2 is in control of your gameplay. If you have someone bran new to the game in the commander seat, it wrecks the game for all the other players. Its something specific to NS2 ... cause in all other cases i agree with you.

True that. They have tutorial videos on commanding and game play and they have "explorer mode" and people insist on jumping in the servers and trying it for the first time. The servers you guys run are not rookie servers therefore people that are experienced just totally destroy the team with the noob commander which is not fair to the people who are experienced at the game. They have servers designed for rookies or my favorite(NOOBS!!). Therefore I like the eject button to eject the commander. Otherwise the servers just die which makes Emperor LittleMan a sad Emperor LittleMan :(

was not aware of that. in that case by all means show them the door :)

Yeah, I'm also against kicking people because they either are too good, or don't know how the play. The guy I was talking about, he wasn't a terribad commander, but he also didn't use waypoints or even try to communicate with the team.I also didn't want to seem heavy handed and just eject or kick for minor reasons... hence my post to see what everyone else thinks.

yea in that case if there is no communication then i agree to kick him out of com chair. I just think if they are terrible at commanding then they should just be ejected, not kicked out of the game completely.I mean try to make them do something else more productive lol. keyword:TRY ;p
I just dont like getting destroyed because the commander is new or doesn't communicate well xD

This isn't a new problem - bf2 and 2142 both had a commander seat. Loads of servers (including ours? can't remember) had rules against commanders fighting when they should be doing their job. Teams should be able to eject/mutiny/impeach if the commander's doing a terrible job. A kick would be going too far, but we should definitely make sure eject is turned on.

This issue will affect everyone when BF4 makes its appearance.

Good point Rails. This will be good to see how we can handle it in BF4.

Only on marines. On aliens the commander might as well be scratching his ballsack with one hand and his ass with the other.

There's a built-in ejaculation vote in the game, so I'd leave it to that. The percentage is rather high I think, but the option is there... so yeah, just encourage massive team ejaculation - that would be my suggestion.

As far as BF4 goes, I wouldn't be surprised if there's still no voice chat and they required a season pass or gay 1 DLC for the commander position.
