NO! I just started playing about 3 weeks ago, let me get me omega rep up and buy my fleet elite ship gear
 
The real trick to the Scimitar is energy levels. I went antiproton so the build is all about energy and and critical hit chance. If you do switch out your boff's for tac grab attack pattern omega between that and evasive you can make cplmac cry about turn rate.

But as I have noted a couple of times turn rate means nothing. Fly it like a cruiser. Tractor beam repulsors can be nice. Not only can you help out in STF's but the further a target is from you the less your turn rate matters so when a defiant gets all up on your sides you can push them out while turning to get weapons on them. Right now your running a beam front and back which will allow for a small amount of damage when people are on your side. But if you drop those and an extra DHC in front all you have to do is be patient. Once weapons are on target just smoke em.

A decent build out of one of these you can take on a couple of decent players. I am curious to see how an engineering build is going to work out. I mean it is a cruiser in most respects but the command tactical is interesting.
 
ya my ship is a mess, I just bought the legacy pack a few days ago and just tossed what ever I had in it, only tier 1 in all the reps atm . I have a lot of work to do on my ship . I am a big fan of Star Wars and Star Trek . Played SWG for 7 years , Guild EGO Found and Leader of EGO Elite Gamers Online . STO is the closest thing to SWG I found . so for now my Jet is in the hanger bay while I wait for my BF4 beta to start. There is alot to STO and I am still a noob atm . Just started to run STF's with the 7th fleet, I just hit lvl 50 and have a ship that I can help out a little . Not doing pvp till i get my ship build to make it worth doing. learning the basics and getting marks. I am lacking on very rare Duty officers ,bridge officers and the knowledge of what ones to use . Any help to get my ship up to par would be nice
 
I loled a little too Kubla but the one thing is if he ever put overload on and hit you while you were staying to the side it would be effective. But for raw damage dealing we know where to go.

Honestly don't know why I didn't ask last night. I said something about the mix of a Dual Heavy Cannon and a Dual Cannon. I remember now isn't this the stupid layout the ship comes with? They give you some crazy combos that I would never use but they are a versatile combo just a little weak. An 8 weapon escort causes some tough decisions though especially a ship that has less native power than any other ship. But all that's made up for in good time.

Fub there are a few ways to build this ship and as much as I hate getting told this its really up to you. I dunno if the chroniton torpedo was recommended to you or if you came up with it on your own but that and those mines is one way to fly this ship. If you like that the Temporal warfare set would be one way to go but it means using antiproton for your energy weapons. The torpedo is a massive chroniton torpedo and if fired with high yield it will actually slow down ships it passes on it's way to target. The dual beam bank of the set has a 2.5% chance to inflict a speed rebuff as well. The console is similar to the universal assimilated in it has crit chance and severity bonus but it also has a small turn rate bonus. 2 set bonus is chroniton damage but the 3 piece bonus has an ability that inflicts massive speed, turn rate and power regent debuffs to targets in a 5k radius. Cool down on that is 3 min so in quick PVP I can only use it every other spawn.

I say do what you can with what you have. My main character has no fleet shields or rep sets. I have the Jem Hadar set the Breen set and the Aegis. On my rom until I got my Borg set I was running random drops. Don't let the elite fleet gear fool you either. Some good shields in there but you might want to run a 2 price deflector and engine set from the rep system instead. The fleet weapons may have more base damage but for most weapons types I can do more damage without fleet weapons. However they are often cheaper and sometimes like in the case of antiproton the only real source. Elite fleet weapons have an interesting proc but they only come in phaser for feds.

Bridge officer rarity doesn't really matter in space combat on regular boffs. It used to matter but they are universally trainable now. Ground combat is likely a different story and most boff traits have to do with ground. I believe you are aware of the Boffs that are the exception to the rule about rarity though. I don't run any of em yet personally. Duty officers are a different story as rarity matters in space very much. I have no doffs on active duty on my romulan. So in that regard I can always do better than I do now.

When I started this game I wanted nothing to do with PVP. I don't know what your learning style is but PVP can make a hands on learner so much better so much quicker than any amount of time in PvE will. I personally learn from analyzing a fight both in real time and after the fact. Me and Kubla go back and forth getting better. At one time we were so evenly matched it took 30 minutes for a single kill to occur.

I'd stick with the fleet your in but your always welcome here as well. Were well connected so we don't miss out on access to high tier shit. We used to be rich but this stupid expansion killed a lot of that. I only play an hour a day but the guys are always running STFs. Hit us up when your on.
