Disney to Acquire Lucasfilm

well, fuck, just when you thought the geeks would stop talking in silly languages.

I believe it was also announced that Star Wars episode 7 is expected to be released summer of 2015. I believe they are making 7, 8 and 9.

If Disney put some of the Pixar brains behind it we may be in for something decent, maybe enough to wipe the memory of Episodes I-III.

Episode I was the only legitimate stinker, and that was mostly because of the Disney-like childish characters. I'm just grateful this will be too far in the future for Christensen to fuck it up again. Pixar could probably make it work, but the truth is the material for 7-9 is pretty mature and dark.

It make Pixar appear more mature. Helping themselves to a bigger audiences not just focusing on kids.

I disagree that Ep 1 was the only legitimate "bad" one. They all shared the same problem: the director. Lucas can't direct. He learned that lesson after Ep 4 back in '77, and went to other directors for 5 (clearly still the champ) and 6. Why on Earth he thought he could re-take the director's seat and make 3 good movies is beyond me. He failed.

It wasn't Christensen's fault, or any of the other actors on set. Each (including him) are decent actors in their own right assuming they have good direction! And they didn't.

IMHO anyway, Lucas should have stayed as the writer, producer, and techie adviser of the 3 films but had someone else with more chops handle the directing. I'll bet a paycheck (and they're sizable.. ;-)) that we'd have had much better movies with nothing else changed. Including Jar-Jar.

I partially agree, its true Lucas blows as a director but it was Christensen delivering clunkers that made ep. 2+3 difficult at times. Everyone had shitty dialogue, but MacGregor, Lee and most notably Ian McDiarmin carried those films. McDiarmin probably gave the best performance of the entire franchise although Hammil was pretty damn strong in Empire and Jedi. Ep.1 was basically a children's film that survived on MacGregor and Niesen. Portman was okay, nothing special.

Cant disagree more. Christenson was GOD awful. He couldnt act his way out a wet paper bag.

Jumper is the only movie I've seen him in where he didn't completely suck.

I've got a perfect movie role for him:
