The other night we had a storm and it knocked a power line down in the alley behind our apartment. The sound woke us up and I could see the flashing and hear a snapping, popping, humming sound so I went outside and looked and saw the power line down towards the end of the alley. Here is while it was shorting out and the aftermath.

Ived seen a power line fall across 10 cars that was in a car lot. about 6 of them were burnt in half.
