I have the free demo - interesting, but I follow the rule of thumb that if you can make a decent game out of somebody's job, people would be paying for the privilege of doing the job.
Where are the sims about space pirates, hovertank drivers and lesbian catchers?
- Freelancer probably is the most recent, but I'd recommend open source engine ports of Descent: Freespace (I think they exist) or to wait for Elite: Dangerous. Oh, also you should DEFINITELY check out SPAZ (Space Pirates and Zombies). It has a demo, and even though the game title sounds retarded, it's a really really solid game, especially considering it's a one-man-band. If you were a fan of star control, you should be freely jizzing in your pants by the time you finish it.
- Battlezone 1/2. Unfortunately it ended there. I really quite enjoy hovertank warfare, and I wish there was a sequel. I dream of a proper Battlezone reboot. That game was just incredible, especially for its time.
- Lesbian catchers might be difficult, but I heard they're remaking the Leisure Suit Larry game in HD (or making a new one, didn't get that part).
