No he wasn't. It doesn't bother me when they do this sorta thing in tv shows or movies. As long the story is spot on.

This remake does look good.

Just saw the trailer in theaters before the avenger2.

Never read the comics but in the first movie didnt they go into space and there was a solar star or something and they got powers. In the new one they have some kind of teleporter device.

In the original origin story, a trip into space and an encounter with cosmic rays gave Reed, Sue, Ben and Johnny superhuman abilities. In later tellings like the Ultimate Fantastic Four of the 2000s (which Trank’s film is drawing on), the four (and nemesis Doctor Doom) gain their powers in a much different way.

Yeah, that's what happened. Some type of solar experiment gone wrong after traveling to space in a spaceship. And let's not forget about the second F4 movie...
