No he wasn't. It doesn't bother me when they do this sorta thing in tv shows or movies. As long the story is spot on.so after seeing the trailer is it a remake of the movie with jessica alba as sue?

In the original origin story, a trip into space and an encounter with cosmic rays gave Reed, Sue, Ben and Johnny superhuman abilities. In later tellings like the Ultimate Fantastic Four of the 2000s (which Trank’s film is drawing on), the four (and nemesis Doctor Doom) gain their powers in a much different way.
Just found this, it explains the difference of new and old F4 movie
Never read the comics but in the first movie didnt they go into space and there was a solar star or something and they got powers.
