With the exception that those are 2 completely different cars. The Texas Mile record done by a Hennessy tune Ford GT. The Hennessy Venom GT is more of the AC Cobra of this era. An english chassis with more power than an insane man would put in a gokart.

The defining factor here is the Ford GT is an out of production car and that was a tuned example. The Venom GT is in production and setting production car records in "stock" trim. I guess the terms of the test/record would also be in play. The Ford GT was basically doing a standing mile. While the Venom was using as long of a track as available.

The Venom is a drive-able car. If that Ford GT was any less drive-able they would have to push start it.

Serious question......what is the point in buying an extremely fast car if it's illegal to drive it except for on tracks? And especially a car so fast that it has to be driven on airstrips...

On a side note, beautiful car. Wish I had one. ;-P

The words "supercar/hypercar" and "what is the point" don't belong together ;-) ...

It's pretty obvious why the maximum "production rate" for this car is 10/year.
