So I was helping somebody try to schedule a G.E.D. test today and what a fucking mess. He had to go to 2 different state agency web sites, create accounts, and download and fill out forms from a third website all just to scan them in, and upload them to the state's site so somebody can review the forms and accept/deny them and then email the testing schedule.

Does any state really expect someone who never got through school to be that familiar or knowledgable with pcs to navigate all that crap and have access to and know how to use a scanner?

When I applied for the GED back in the day, I walked into an office, filled out a form, got the schedule and two weeks later took the test. Easy, right? Not any more. What a fucking waste of time and money.

same here, they wanted me to go to "classes" too. I told them piss off give me a practice test to prove that I dont need help to pass this shit.

I guess I should county myself lucky they weren't doing that when I went to take mine; again not that it was needed since they awarded me a HS diploma but it's turned into a cluster fuck from what I see. I'm sure there are a lot of underlying reasons too, but the way they're going about it seems needlessly over complicated.

Easy way to tell who needs a Diploma/GED.
Check one.
