Hosting - Bad news is to ensure a reliable launch were stuck on our slow ass NFO web hosting. This is because the blazing fast Xenforo tuned provider I contracted has shown me nothing but shaft, even better they just got bought out... Good news is no DNS propagation delay! I will continue to tune a VPS to move the site onto sometime in the future.
When - The old site will go down between 1230am and 1am. Everyone trying to access the site will see a page with TS, Twitter and info in what's going on. The initial backup install and import takes about an hour. However the custom imports and setting up everything will take longer. Giving myself 6 hours which honestly most of you will be passed out possibly drunk during most of it anyways.
What will be imported - I won't have time to clean up PMs so pretty much everything is coming with us. The obvious is forums threads posts, users passwords avatars. All the custom fields in profiles will make it and after a cleanup signatures too. Your likes which are part of the vbSEO plugin will be imported. Profile comments are native and imported. All donations will be imported via a script I wrote. Pretty much everything except arcade scores is making the jump.
Donations - To ensure a smooth transition between donation systems the current system will be disabled on the 31st. The IPN will be changed ahead of new years celebrations so that when the new site comes online we can take donations right away.
Theme - I am sure I will have to run around tweaking and working on the theme after launch. No real doubt but even with a done label on it, it will never be finished. The theme and the graphics will be under a constant state of development to improve and refine. So report any bugs but don't worry about any dull spots. I intend to polish the shit out of it.
