Nvidia and Epic showing off latest enhancements – tessellation, Physx, 3D Vision and more – at GDC.

Epic Games is showing off the latest enhancements to its Unreal Engine at this week’s Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco. Chief amongst them is the addition of DX11 support.

Unreal Engine 3 now features DX11 tessellation as well as support for Nvidia’s Physx, Apex and 3D Vision technologies. A realtime demo showcasing the engine’s capabilities will be shown off at GDC.

In a press release Nvidia says the demo “represents Epic’s proposal for what the next generation of gaming will look like, including complex environments, detailed character models and destruction and clothing modules.”

Epic vice president Mark Rein said: “we have enhanced Unreal Engine 3 to bring unprecedented new levels of realism and demonstrate what the next generation of gaming will be.”
