Got a Sniper Rifle Ribbon in a round which did not help Gol assignment??

I got 8 sniper kills in one game and received a Sniper Ribbon, but when I look at the GOL Magnum it still says 0 of 1 ribbons needed. UNLOCKED VIA ASSIGNMENT still shows 0.
Anyone know what is wrong here? I thought that when you received the Sniper Ribbon in a round for 6 Sniper kills you were then set up for the 5 kills needed from the tower on Firestorm. Can anyone help explain to me why I don't see the Sniper Ribbon on the assignment page?

You need to kill 5 enemies from Pipes at C on OP Firestorm or Smoke Stack at D on Caspian Border in a SINGLE round. Then you should get it.

Yep, for the "Eagle's Nest" assignment, you need to do both in the same round on Caspian/Firestorm. Can't do them in separate rounds.

So, the best way to do this is to get the 5 kills on the tower first, then make sure you have enough time to get the final kill for the ribbon. Then you will unlock that gun you want.

you dont have to be on the tall tower on firestorm, just the highest tank near the first platform on tower. rock those "I" beams, and move around for cover...or you find your self more hip, hop, hoop, alley-ooping than killing!
