I'm sorry, but if Russia does make the maneuver, the UN will be all over them like flies on shit. Not only will there be an embargo, which will crush them worse then them running out of funds during the cold war, but I'm sure there will be strikes also.
 
were in the nato, all 3 of us, all 3 of us also have nato airbases on our soil, ours even tends to have A-10s quite often

The UN would never dare say something to Russia, China or NK Rig. However NATO would jump in it's ass with both feet. Fortunately the Soviets have been content to simply invade Georgia and it's immediate neighbors. They have done so with impunity and likely won't attack any further west. A Soviet researcher suggesting they should move west doesn't carry any real weight or cause for concern.

in the past years, when u.k. u.s. , germany and the netherlands were policing the airspace there were like 3 break-ins a month from the russians, now that the french are here every single one gets intercepted, this might send a strong signal as well - the funny thing is, the french are using electronic reconaissance planes for interception

Russia and China are permanent members of the Security Council with the power of veto. UN is powerless to act against either of them unless they were to withdraw.

Exactly. As if that wasn't bad enough Syria, Pakistan, Libya and Rwanda have all been on the Council in the past ten years. Pakistan TWICE and currently Pakistan and Rwanda are both on the council. We let the Soviets in when the Berlin wall came down, and we let China in when Nixon was trying to cut off support to the Viet Cong. The UN is a fucking joke and everybody knows it. They have never seen a genocide they thought was worth stopping.
