High Ping for Battlefield 3 and Squad

Hi everyone,

I've been playing on TBG for a few months now and I'm not having issues with very high ping (~200). I live in the New York City area and I usually had around 30 ping. Now I am unable to play on either the BF3 or Squad servers due to high ping issues. Would you guys know why my ping is so high? A friend of mine lives across town and his ping is in the 30s.

sounds like routing to the server may be an issue for you. I had that problem a long time ago. It was a pain but I got my internet provider to finally reroute my internet.

So if I called up my ISP what do I ask for?

Hey fitz,

Before you call them can you try something for me? Just as a test.

Bypass your router and plug your Ethernet cable directly into your PC. Reboot your modem and see what your latency is after that.

Report back.

PS - If you have one of those All-in-One Modem/Router devices you won't be able to do this.
