Holy lightning

1/30th of a second and it could kill you. Amazing. As a ghost you wouldn't know what killed you or if your dead! :eek:
 
That shit's no joke. I had lightning go through the roof of a rescue vehicle I was in and hit the electric panel on the console. All I could see for about 5 minutes straight was pure white and I couldn't hear a thing except for the ringing in my ears for about a half hour. It melted that console section to slag. Luckily, we were on the highway and nobody hit us cause' that fried all the electronics in the vehicle and killed the engine.
 
Damn Sixer, that is some seriously scary shit. I would agree some real luck there!
 
I wish I had taken pics of that; it even bubbled and blackened the paint on the roof at the entry point. It was a little worrying not being able to see and smelling smoke and melting plastic...I just stayed real still until I could see again. It turns out that the lightning hit about a foot away from where my leg was, which luckily was not pressed up against that center console with all the electronics, lights swithces, radios, etc.
 
I live where monsoons bring tons of lightning... When I was a kid one struck the neighbors tree. I still can't sleep through a storm. I have to pace the house until it passes.
 
Supposedly you were safe in the car. Faraday cage and all that shit. I'm not sure how it works though, but I'm sure you can read it if you're interested :-) .
