How many look forward to having image/video galleries on the site?

I got some good news today. The gallery plugin I intend to use for Xenforo currently only functions as a site wide gallery and has been under heavy development this year to not only bring user galleries but many other features. The developer posted today that v2.0 just entered closed beta meaning the wait is almost over. Its unclear the release date but hoping to have it on the site January 1st...

I for one really wish we had galleries. Not only that but I really wanted a gallery system that let you easily post the images in a thread. So when you build that new system you can upload it to your gallery AND post it in a thread without attaching separate images. That's going to happen and while for registered users space might be limited to non existent all donators will be given space.

We currently have a video gallery plugin but no one uses it. The good news is this is actually part of the picture gallery. What I hope to see is that when people post montages they also add them to their personal gallery. Problem with our current plugin is it sucks. Adding a video isn't that easy and there is no easy way to let members have their own category. Much nicer to hit up your own profile and see your videos folder in the gallery section.

Gallery? We dont have one. VBulletin has user albums and they work as intended which is to say they are useless.

Fast tried out gallery plugins and didn't like any of them. I'm glad we don't have one now as it makes moving so much easier. XMG won't have an importer for vb gallery software for a few months.

when i click my album it doesnt open up... just refreshes the page.

When I click on the more button it opens up this http://www.tbgclan.com/members/d04k/albums/

Clicking the image links to the gallery page which is why your seeing a refresh. As I said useless. What's fucked up is it links to who is viewing not the persons gallery.

I don't remember vb4 being advertised as having a gallery and I count it as non existent if its broke then fuck it lol.

sounds fucking solid! I am excited about the new site

Me too its kinda sad that day 1 despite all the differences the site will be very much the same. The whole point is a new platform to grow on.

The behind the scenes shit not being ready day 1 is my fault but plugins like the gallery have an unknown date attached as well. It will be really awesome to have a gallery day 1 but truth is it might be a couple weeks later. Things missing like that will make day 1 kinda sucky.

Not to mention there is a lot of subtle features XenForo has making it easier to use. Of course, the tweaks will come with time, but I think a lot of you will like how it functions, even without some of the plugins.

Hell the responsive design alone will be a nice touch. I do most of my viewing and half of my posting through a browser on my phone. I will probably ditch tapatalk after the new site launches however tapatalks official forums run Xenforo and obviously it works well with xenforo.

The front page won't be fully responsive but almost every part of the site will be including the gallery.

bah, web sites are a living entity man, it will get fully grown in time. I imagine it has its ups and downs when devveloping, but none the less, still excited. I mean its like putting new rims and tires on the same ride, the feel and aesthetics of a new ride is there though!

It would help if the site designer didn't have ADD like tendencies and slept like a drug addict.

wish I could help. Gunna focus some schooling on web dev as soon as I get the paperwork squared away. Time to grow up I guess

Shit you could have a masters in computer science and get a job specializing in php for 5 years and it would still take you a couple weeks to crash course your way into Xenforo development. Which is to say nothing would be done in time for launch that isn't already making it.

A very popular vB plugin Dev has been working on Xenforo for a year now and even he will admit he still hasn't quite figured it all out yet.
