I am still tweeking my settings in game. I am all about performance.. quality is a distance second. I am running a GTX 1080 / i7 6950X / 32g of ram / 512ssd

I have been lookin on youtube, but, I would rather hear it from folks that are dedicated to BF4. Thanks for the input!

It must be just me... I know I can move even faster at lower settings - Texture at Ultra / Mesh at Ultra - everything else set to low. the game still looks amazing at these settings. I am going to do a video later today and post it here.

Also have a 1080 and running on ultra. I actually just clicked optimize on the gforce experience program. BF1 I clicked optimize and turned down the over sample back to 100.
One item to note is that I only have a 60 hz monitor.

I run on 144hz, gtx 1080 with i7-2600K (not clocked) with 32 gigs ram + on ssd

everything is maxed the fck out. 110hz stable on crap maps, 144hz on not that crap maps.

I am NOT a youtuber :/

Purpose of me making this video is to show that it's ok to set your settings down on a powerful system. We all know what a GTX 1080 can do with a good processor.. we have seen the benchmarks and videos. Having the settings at Ultra only on Texture and Mesh - it still looks amazing and the game play is way smoother imo. Also, the temp does not go over 60c at times (this is why I have vysync on)

This map has a bit more going on.. the temp does go between 65-70 at times

What temp? The cpu or video card? Also, being in TX you probably could use water cooling of some sort to keep the components chilled. Either an all in one or a custom loop. Albeit a custom loop, my cpu runs 52-53C in game and the 1080 TI runs 37C steady in BF1- in BF4 it was 45-47C cpu and 35C gpu.

My cpu runs 35c always (liquid cooled) gpu is a 1080 FE. I can run a fan curve and keep the GPU at a steady 45c. Can you do a video and show me?

Do you use just the in game settings or a user.cfg too?

Give this a shot, here's my user.cfg: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B2ACeKjQA7RlanVpVmhiV2FGVjQ
It goes in the BF4 root folder, where the bf4.exe is. Launch the game normally and if you see the fps counter in the upper right corner you'll know it's working. If you don't like it just delete or rename the file and you're back to what you had before.
You can open it with notepad and edit it however you want. It's set to limit your fps at 500, I tried setting that to 120 for my monitor but I like it better unlimited, so to speak.. The last three lines added around 60 fps to some maps. I'm getting 170 - 190 on Golmud Railway and I'll say 120 - 160 on Lockers. With a GTX 970 *slightly* overclocked.
