Micro center did one thing very right with the WinBook TW801. Not only did the 8 inch tablet have a full size USB port which almost none of its competitors have, it was USB 3.0. I can still use the microusb with an OTG adapter for another port but more importantly I can charge it and have a USB port. It has a lot of cut corners but at 100 bucks I'll take a worse screen and only 5 point multi touch over a device I can't charge and plug things into at the same time.
I'm really looking for a 10inch tablet now with 4gb of ram and atleast 64gb of storage. Hopefully something that ends up running windows 10 gracefully. You can't actually just upgrade a wimboot packed tablet. It has to be supported. Windows 10 is actually going to improve upon that setup with better compression and removing the recovery image altogether.
Perhaps its an issue on the Intel side. The ram is after all packaged into the SoC. However the Surface 3 being $500 with only 2gb of ram on the 64gb model doesn't work for me. 2 GB of ram might be passable in 32bit windows but is 10 even going to offer 32bit? Hoping to find a competitor in the $400 range by the end of the year. Something with USB Type C perhaps?
