Yesterday my phone stopped working. It's off and doesn't turn on even when it's on the charger. I never dropped it and had a 92% charge when it bricked. When I have it off the charger for a while then put it back on it sometime works. It boots up then it turns off after one to two minutes. I already did the 'volume up+home button+power button' thing. That didn't fix it.

Well there is always a reason :p Hundreds of components waiting to fail any day starting the first time you turn it on. From the sound of your recovery entry method it seems like its a Motorola? Every manufacturer, often model is different on that. So your saying you already tried a cache reset and then a total factory reset? Next step would be to put itin Fast Boot and try to reflash the firmware but if it comes to that its usually best just to talk to a store unless your not going to be able to replace it.

I have the Samsung Droid Charge. I did the cache reset and then a total factory reset. The other two options were reboot and install update from the SD card.

Update from zip is only for update.zip's from the last OTA build to the latest (or in the case of leaks from the last OTA to the latest test).
Fast Boot on Samsung is ODIN. Fix Droid Charge with Full Factory Restore using Odin | The Android Soul

If you want to flash over a fresh factory firmware the instructions are in that link. Ive probably done 200 flashes in ODIN myself. But if your phone is under warranty or you can get it exchanged then might be better off. If its a software problem this will fix it if its not then this might even make the situation worse if the flash does not go well.

Hold Volume Down button and plug in the USB cable which is connected to PC at other end.

Is apparently the way yours is? GS2 is Vol Down + Power. The firmware in that post is probably not the latest, it doesnt matter as you can update OTA afterwards but if you wish you can seek out the tar for the latest as well.

The phone is still under warranty. I will try to get it exchanged
