Without going into the details, Starcraft II has an Arcade that is now open to any and everyone. If you own the game, or don't, you can now download the arcade and play it with friends. The arcade is a large collection or blizzard and fan made maps, things from custom RPGs to racing games, all made from SC2 models and such. MORE INFO HERE, but if you need a change of pace and love free shit that you can play with friends, it might be worth a peek.

All that said, if you grew up a nerd and loved card games, Hearthstone (another blizzard creation) is in open beta and you should be able to download the client if/when you get a Bnet account.

Sounds like what I used to do in StarCraft: BroodWar. UMS (Use Map Settings). Had a blast with that back about 12 years ago.

Pretty much the same thing, but they are letting you play those maps for free, even without owning the full version of the game, which is kind of awesome. Gonna have to try out some of the turret defense maps etc and see whats new past the bejewled one i played last year.
