I dont think so haha, why would someone make a fake video about this.

I guess this was on Good Morning America - and that it is fake

A blog post on the Montreal animation school Centre NAD website claims that the video was a hoax created by their students. The post states:

The ?Golden Eagle Snatches Kid? video, uploaded to YouTube on the evening of December 18, was made by Normand Archambault, Loic Mireault and Felix Marquis-Poulin, students at Centre NAD, in the production simulation workshop class of the Bachelors degree in 3D Animation and Digital Design.

According to the post, "Both the eagle and the kid were created in 3D animation and integrated in to the film afterwards."

Video had me convinced though till I looked it up. lol

It happended in Montreal, or so was filmed here.
It is all over internet and it seems like the eagle's and baby's shadow don't match sometimes. Consensus is that it is a fake.

They did a good job , they must be animating the kid and not the eagle. I have seen this happen before, an eagle diving a kid, so i dont see why someone would make this lol...

They animated both the eagle and the kid.

They are pretty impressive. I saw comments about people complaining the shadows didn't match up and all that, but, my eyes couldn't see such things. If it weren't for the intranetz, I would've thought it was real.

Well, it got them 10M views, so it was a pretty successful experiment.

The thing is, the "lift-off" doesn't look realistic. If a bird was to latch on to something heavy like a kid, they'd be flapping their wings like crazy trying to lift-off... and I really don't think an eagle can lift a kid that big off the ground at all.

I call BS...

How much weight can hawks lift and carry away? Can they carry away dogs and cats that weigh 5 or 6 pounds? | Answerbag

"Late breaking news, requiring an edit; A few hours after answering I visited the local used book store where to my delight I found three years worth of Birder's magazine in the 'discard free for the taking' box!! Even bigger surprize, in June 2006 issue someone asked almost the same question! Except 'Have hawks been known to pick up small dogs?' Instead of 'can they.' The expert's answer was almost the same as mine, he adds Harris's and Swainson's hawks as likely suspects and his jack rabbits weigh almost 10 pounds (thas a BIG rabbit.)"

Heat you know eagles in my area are like half my size......
