PS4 Officially Announced

For those of you who watched, how boring did you think it was?! Haha.
 
Supercharged my ass. I'm betting it will be equivalent to a high-midrange parts as far as CPU/GPU goes on release - they do have to make money on them (or the games) after all, and they can't charge $1K+ which is what a truly high-end, well-cooled PC costs. And then it'll be significantly surpassed in performance by PC market parts within 1-2 years...

Consoles, le sigh. Oh wellz, they're here to stay -_- ...

I also love how they said that they were using TOP OF THE LINE GDDR5 which is generally reserved for top of the line PC graphics cards...LOL you can get GDDR5 gfx cards for $80.
 
Yes, but when you have the buying power of a company like Sony, you can take what would cost you or I $1000 and produce it much cheaper.
Examples: Bluray - they don't have to license it and they can use it at cost.

I'm not saying they will sell the unit at cost, I highly doubt it, but there are many ways they can save money for the consumer. Remember, the original xbox lost Microsoft tons of money - but xbox live and halo saved it.
