The reason his SPM was so high in the past is due to double XP. This twitter post from a DICE employee shows that double xp began at the end of March 2020 and this reddit comment claims that double xp ended in July 2020. There are numerous other posts on reddit that can corroborate this.

Comapare these time frames with his historical SPM and you'll see it correlates almost perfectly with his SPM rising during this period and then falling afterwards. His SPM has been plummeting since July 2020 from 2500 to 1600 and continues to go down.
