It takes approximately 3 seconds to go through the knife animation in BF3. Exact time might vary depending on the specific animation, I've not done that much testing. This screenshot shows him getting 13 knife kills in 1 minute. At 3 seconds per animation that gives him about 20 seconds outside of the animation to run between targets. There is also a cooldown with knife slashes. Slashes only do 50% damage so most of the time you need 2 strikes, and if there is a medpack near the target to heal them you'll need even more.

This must be one of the best knife clips of all time.

The 3 rows highlighted show 3 kills in a single second. He would need to slash all 3 people with 1 slash... I'm not sure you can even hit multiple people with a single slash in BF3.

There are numerous other examples in the event log where he gets multiple knife kills in a single second.
