I will let others review but I think he had a clear view of your legs. Your view of him was through the map.
 
You was using the mortar that you put close to the base and you let your body in the middle of the snow, attention on the map and mini map. When he kills your body, the killcam keep on the mortar's cam that you put close to you base that you was using. You can even see in the mini map he killing you body.IMG_20220711_012218.jpg

Right, he was right next to me and across the map at the same time. Got it.

@Frank Castle Is Correct, The death cam is only showing the view of the mortar. Which is positioned much closer to your base. While your body/player is near the helipad where SpikeFrags killed you. Although it looks like he shot you across the map. You are only seeing it from the POV of the mortar.

I see what you're saying. I guess the mortar I placed in the beginning of the video never took effect.
