While I was listening to a recent interview with Graham Hancock about his new novel and his TED lecture, the startling claim was made that Russian President Vladimir Putin commented that war might be a necessary result of the Monsanto Protection Act. I was skeptical, but did a little digging around, and it turns out the story checks out?
The shocking minutes relating to President Putin?s meeting last month with US Secretary of State John Kerry reveal the Russian leaders ?extreme outrage? over the Obama regimes continued protection of global seed and plant bio-genetic giants Syngenta and Monsanto in the face of a growing ?bee apocalypse? that the Kremlin warns ?will most certainly? lead to world war.
According to these minutes, released in the Kremlin today by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation (MNRE), Putin was so incensed over the Obama regimes refusal to discuss this grave matter that he refused for three hours to even meet with Kerry, who had traveled to Moscow on a scheduled diplomatic mission, but then relented so as to not cause an even greater rift between these two nations.
At the center of this dispute between Russia and the US, this MNRE report says, is the ?undisputed evidence? that a class of neuro-active insecticides chemically related to nicotine, known as neonicotinoids, are destroying our planets bee population, and which if left unchecked could destroy our world?s ability to grow enough food to feed its population.
So grave has this situation become, the MNRE reports, the full European Commission (EC) this past week instituted a two-year precautionary ban (set to begin on 1 December 2013) on these ?bee killing? pesticides following the lead of Switzerland, France, Italy, Russia, Slovenia and Ukraine, all of whom had previously banned these most dangerous of genetically altered organisms from being used on the continent.
Two of the most feared neonicotinoids being banned are Actara and Cruiser made by the Swiss global bio-tech seed and pesticide giant Syngenta AG which employs over 26,000 people in over 90 countries and ranks third in total global sales in the commercial agricultural seeds market.

Yeah, it's been a quietly, here in the US, growing outrage for years. But you'll never hear it reported in the news in the US.

The world has been crying about genetically engineered agriculture for years. I never understood the anger, it can and does help bring modified crops to regions that could never grow their own grains. I don't know if there is definitive science out there that shows GE crops are a health risk, but I've never heard the contention of damage to the global bee population. If there is voracity to that it's a major problem.

Here in the midwest we've been seeing declined bee populations for a number of years.

That aside, there is research on GE crops - thats a reason most of Europe doesn't use them - and are often banned in those countries.

We don't know the long term side effects because we haven't had them long enough to study their impact on not just one generation, but multiple. However, I have a number of family members who have very poor reactions to GMO Corn. My wife cannot consume any GMO/GE corn (especially corn syrup) without side effects - BUT heirloom corn does not bother her. The same with my nephew. When he has anything that has corn in it (which is in almost anything processed that you buy...) he has severe ADHD. However, on a corn free diet he has no ADD or ADHD symptoms at all. Now I personally don't have any reactions to corn or corn syrup, it does give me an interesting perspective....

I've read some strange reports about the "modified crops". I personally haven't had any issues, but I also personally feel it was fine the way it was so quit fucking with things..lol I also have another saying "If man made it don't eat it" (processed food, generally foods in wrappers, soda, etc. etc.) getting damn hard to find food that is not in some way "made by man".

The crying is mostly about world domination. It's pretty obvious, I think someone from the company even said it that Monsanto's goal is to own a royalty of every seed planted on the planet...

Imagine seeds which only react to certain pesticides, pesticides which kill other seeds but don't kill Monsanto's seeds, "aggressive" strains of genetically-modified seeds which take suppress natural seeds, etc. etc.

It's basically somewhat quiet gene warfare fueled by corporate greed.

As far as bee-killing pesticides, I don't know anything about that.

We can ignore this for another generation or two no need to worry until it's a problem... right?
