Scheduled Restart Issues

just a quick fyi,
your scheduled 1pm restart of the air-maps server needs a little work. it seems following the restart the rotation gets a bit messed up and it re-plays the last map completed twice before moving on to the correct map in the rotation. Once in a while an admin is around to skip the map but 99% of the time we end up having to play 3600-4800 tickets of Rouge.

The restart is a simple command. Why is it playing same map after restart, couldn't tell you. I rearranged the map list a bit to see if that helps
 
i guess its worth a try but isn't there a way to add a command to skip 2 maps following every restart?

No, it is not related to battlefield or its maps. It's scheduled to restart the service(service being the server)
 
i get that, what i'm saying is in the restart script or procon or CC or whatever you use to manage your server there has to be a way to tell it to skip the next x# of rounds (maps). Maybe its too involved, in which case just ask your admins to skip the map after the restart. There were 3 admins on immediately following today's restart yet they did nothing and let 3 rounds of parcel storm play on.

No you are not understanding, it has nothing to do with procon or maplist. Like I said not related to battlefield at all. It's an option allowing you to restart in the control panel with our game server provider, they don't give you option for what map to run. It's simply what time you want this server to restart, check the box from 12pm to 12 am, save. That's it.
 
ok... I get u now. I just assumed you'd have more control over the server these days. Anywho i guess we're stuck waiting on them to fix it on their side. Personally i would raise a serious stink with them as the server takes a pretty substantial hit on pop during that time.

another thought, is to possibly change the restart to be in the middle of the night instead of mid day. Obviously i have no visibility into your background stats but there seems to be a window between about midnight until maybe 2am where the westcoasters fall asleep and the eastcoasters haven't woken up yet. Might wanna look into that. Right now the server's usually full at 1pm and then after the restart it takes a huge amount of time for it to repopulate with a stable set of players.

If its done middle of the night then nobody will rejoin.

As mentioned before I made some small changes we will wait and see.
 
theres no pop in the middle of the night so who cares if an empty server restarts? The later timezones will join between 2 and 3 and never know the difference.

but yeah ok lets see if those changes help... crossing my fingers.

the servers are full 24/7, if they're not, something is very wrong.

I don't know about the dlc servers but I just got thru with the TGB Air Maps Only Conquest 24/7 and there was an average of about 25 players over the last hour or so, its starting to pick up now. But no, what I noted above has held true for the past week if not longer. In fact I'm not sure we're even talking about BF4 anymore because since i started playing in april its rare to find a full server or even a half full server for that matter between 12 and 2am pst. on the other hand at 1:00 in the afternoon the air server is not only full but it usually has a queue.

In any case this isn't a debate, I'm not trying to argue when its full or not. I'm sure there's some type of analytics they can pull up to see what time of day or night is appropriate or even if it needs to be changed. I only thought to throw out what I've been seeing over the last few weeks and maybe inform the owner(s) of a very nice server that there's a bit of an issue with the restart app.

as I'm writing this there are currently 27 players in TGB Air Maps Only Conquest 24/7
 
The "lol" part is that you will be coming back here complaining about lag. Restarting overnight not only makes it harder to repopulate in the morning but it will still lag 12 hours later. Restarting prime time is the solution.
