playing on the large conquest server yesterday I more than noticed that quite a few were complaining of lag...well....im one that wasnt...never had ANY lag of any kind at all. I usually ping out at the high 90's too which I find strange cuz in the past on BF2 servers of yours...it was always mid-80's...so Im wondering where these giys were from that were complaining so much about the lag.....lower SLOBovia??...lol

There were complaints about lag on Other servers?

We have gotten some weird shit here ever since the 24th and for the life of me don't know if its the queue, the new patches or faulty hardware. Anything after 56 slots and it starts acting weird.

maybe the hardware cant support clients over 56? and its overloading?

Other people have the same box as ours. We are the only ones having issues.

What did we overload with? Its not even at above 30% total usage

with 3.4 ghz that can run up 3.8ghz on it four of them including another 4 logical ones. Highly doubt this one.

Removing PB folder and doing a clean install of PB was suggested

or removal of BF2. Apparently other games may conflict with BF3. Trying both to see.

I wanna know who suggested removing an older game so your new game would not lag...I really do...

Ive played in very few servers probably around 10 diffrent ones....there are a few 64 man servers that dont lag - and a few that have the same problem we do in ours...

apparently NFO servers are the best but they cost alot more...Ive used NFO servers for years on Halo PC and you could feel the diffrence...everytime we got one it filled up and people thanked us randomly. I know soulz and fast and other admins have been working with the server providers to solve our problem Im sure they will fix it =D

Meh we are on sandy bridges the fastest proc and architecture today. I am still mystified myself.

Keep in mind we were running beautifully until the 24th so whatever happened since then is what we are trying to figure it out.

Our game server provider. I do know mixing battlefield 2 and counter strike source messes up source FPS on the server. So yes it is possible, but rare.

Yes NFO are a good GSP but do not have BF2/2142 ranked licenses but i that would be something to look into if there is no solution here.

Btw I never trusted server providers...not even NFO - but obviously the servers where better from NFO back when I used to own a few myself...you really dont know if your game is really running on the hardware theyre telling you...out of curiosity is there any regulation that goes on with these providers? some kind of rating system...?

most problems that come up with servers are based on location.... new york for example I never had a problem with... chicago was always 50/50.... texas was 100% solid.

ok but it was running flawless until 24th so its something new that came up.

We are thinking we found the problem. It was PB updating during R9. Deleted the whole folder and did a clean PB install and city maps runs like it used to apparently. Hope it remains like that.

Since air maps has a lower slot count to compensate for the lag for now but will get on it tomorrow morning before heading to work.

Does not seem like it was Battlefield 2 so that has been turned back on.

the t ime i was on yesterday...horrrible rubber banding issues and lag....that may have been before the PB redo tho....x's fingers

We only applied the update to our City Maps server. The others have been applied.
