I may be biased on this one for two reasons. A. I love sci-fi movies. B. Die (Dee) Antwoord is music I listen to quite often.
Overall, not a bad move. I really liked it. 2 of the main group of characters make up the South African techno/rap group Die Antwoord, so their acting is...well, they play themselves, so it's not really acting. Plot is your generic sentient "outcast" robot sorta thing. Very entertaining, had some funny parts ( or I was only one in theatre cackling because my sense of humour is off), also had some "comical" parts that the audience picked up on. I enjoyed it, would see it again! ( but my opinion may be biased)
If you liked District 9, or Elysium, you will enjoy this movie (as I think same behind the scenes people). Pretty much a movie that anyone could watch, parental guidance is advised as there is a tit shot and some foul language, but the kids get off on the emotional aspect of Chappie so it offsets the bad stuff.
