The designer of the F-16 explains why the F-35 is such a crappy plane

He says any long wave radar can detect any stealth, but the only way it sees our stealth is when the landing gear is down or the bomb bay doors are open. I agree with him though that the F35 is a shit aircraft. Multi-role aircraft will always be inferior to dedicated aircraft. An F22 will never lose a dog fight to an aircraft that is designed to drop bombs. I think he's a little harsh on the F35B for not being able to fight air to air, they are meant for CAS specifically. In fact that might be the only variant of the F35 that is not multi-role.
 
L band defeats the radar absorbing paint by nature of how the paint works. Nothing about landing gear.

Shit aircraft and canada should not buy them
