Hitting one often = dead driver.



This particular accident moose went straight through, driver lived. Its very often like rear ending a tractor trailer at 70+. The driver compartment is crushed most of the time.

I would much rather hit a telephone poll than a moose. Sudden impacts are deadly, but crushed face is as well. My truck is particularly known for causing asphyxia in roll overs because the B pillar support running across the roof is weak and it tends to pin the drivers head. Knowing the A pillars on just about any car are good for nothing my roof would just flatten in a moose impact.
