So, first off I need to say that I admit - I was mostly wrong about BFH.
Pros:
- Smooth gameplay. Movement speed seems perfect, aiming, weapon control, etc.
- Good vehicle armor/damage balance. For example a single granade launcher will not destroy a car, but two will for sure. An RPG will take out a car.
- Solid maps. The maps are fun, well thought out. The larger ones are not too big or awkward, while the smaller ones seem to fit just right.
- CQB is fun. Think BF3 Close Quarters fun. I actually think that @sixer9682 @SgtDeadred @razorbackx, etc would have a lot of fun playing this.
- Weapons are more like BF3 - in a good way.
- Great modes. I'm not going to lie. I felt like some of these modes "hotwire" and "blood money" were going to play like gimmicky crap. I was wrong. They are addictive and a blast. I think the guys who we played domination with in BF4 and CQB with in BF3 would find this mode fantastic. 32 players seems to be a perfect balance, and the maps sizes fit well.
- Levolution. Mild and less gimicky. Fits in well instead of feeling forced.
Cons
- Weapon unlock menu system is not intuitive, which makes the "buying" weapons experience painful. I truly believe that with a more self apparent and enjoyable menu system the unlock system would be just fine.
- Feels small. This is where the "Skinned BF4" arguement comes from. I don't believe that at all, but it feels that way sometimes because of the lack of content. This is not a $60 AAA multiplayer title. There are a good number of maps, but weapon options seem limited
- Class based weapons. Think BC2 where most weapons were only available to certain classes. There isn't really much overlap. I don't know if this is really a con, or if I am spoiled by so many options in BF4
- Battlepacks. Yep, still here. Also you can buy more battlepacks for the ingame "money" that you get from playing.
- Boosts. While I don't like the overall concept of boosts, I think they made some really good choices here. Instead of having a flat 200% or 25% boost you choose a boost for certain classes, and those boosts are specific to things you do. Like a 100% XP boost for "team based" gameplay, etc.
I'll add more thoughts as I learn more.
