Xbox One: 'Wrestling With The Hardware' Is Inevitable - Titanfall Dev

Every generation begins with struggles, claims Titanfall developer Steve Fukuda, and next-gen is no different.

It's bound to happen. After years developing games on increasingly mature hardware, next-gen consoles are going to require understanding before we see the best of them.
It's a sentiment Titanfall game director Steve Fukuda shares, which is why Respawn is preferring working on a new IP at the start of a generation.
"I think it depends on each developer's circumstances," said Fukuda when asked about the importance of developing for next-gen, "but I think it is more difficult, at least technically.
"As you know, developers faced with the start of a generation invariably have to wrestle with the hardware in its formative stages; there are more unknowns than if you are working with established hardware."
By developing a new IP alongside the next-gen of consoles, the Titanfall developer believes that only adds to the struggles, but could ultimately be worthwhile.
"Inventing a new IP and developing for new hardware at the same time places heavier demands on technical resources," said Fukuda.
"There may be a better chance of 'making a bigger splash' at the start of a generation, but ultimately I think you have to make a great game first, and that inherently has a greater effect than timing."
This compliments Payday 2 developer David Goldfarb's belief that there's never a bad time for new IP -
regardless of when it launches in a generation.

My thoughts after seeing the trailer:

Although it's basically a parkour COD with a touch of Shogo: MAD . That said, that's not a bad thing. I just hope the final feels better than that disappointment Hawken, and that it's not a ridiculously bad port...

Edit: Nevermind, I didn't see the EA logo. So I'm guessing Origin. Also probably p2p seeing that xShit is the leading platform or some retardation like 4v4 max... o well.

yea, that is what turned me off about it, was the 4v4....Buuuut was just interested to see if any of you guys were gunna get it to let me know how it was....
heat, haha love that "Not Bad" photo
