Worth it; Shogun 2 is probably the best of the series.

I think I have all the Total Wars made in the past 6 years. My favorite is Total War: Empire
Mostly because of the trading mechanisms you can set up.
I didn't much like the Shogun 2. The whole "fracture" event when you start doing well killed the fun for me. Pretty much make the strategy very samey... collect masses of troops to take over the whole world at once or forget it.
