The box that does not host battlefield/bf3/hardline servers will be upgraded from VPS box to a full machine box giving us more room and raw power. The VPS cost 80/month and the lowest grade full machine is 139/month. VPS is not bare hardware so it does have its limitation but great for non heavy games like the other games we host (tf2/CS/insurgency/KF) Dont be fooled though, the lowest grade box is still top notch box and able to run any servers out there just slightly less efficient than the two other box we have (which are e3-1271 v3). This box was the same specs we started in bf4.

Here are the specs

E3-1270: Solid Sandy Bridge-based machine
  • Intel Xeon E3-1270 processor (four physical 3.4ghz cores on QPI + hyperthreading + turbo->3.8ghz)
  • 16 GB DDR3-1333 ECC memory
  • 1000 GB, 7200 RPM SATA hard drive
  • 30000 GB of bandwidth transfer
  • Able to host around 250-300 connected players at once

We can't add 16 slots to one of our BF boxes and I imagine the hardcore conquest server will be changed to all the new maps (64) when released so i'll have to move the gunmaster server onto the new box to give us room.

I think we can cover 60 a month extra no problem.

Box is here, there will be some 2-3 mins downtime for each all non battlefield games (tonight and tomorrow throughout the day). Gunmaster server will also be moved to the new other box. Forgot to mention but this move will also help us expand for battlefront servers.
