Spoilers ahead if you have not seen the film I recommend it.
So I decided to watch this flick as I am a fan of Paul Walkers (RIP)
And one scene in particular was so.... dark... like the whole movie has a dark feel to it, but this scene in particular was pretty bad.
Oleg is a little American / Russian boy who is running from the Police/Italian mafia/Russian mafia for a shooting he did.
As he is running from his deranged step dad, he hides in the back of this van. This middle aged couple ends up abducting him along with these two other children who are about 9-10 in age.
At the couples apartment is a room full of toys, play things and it looks like the set from some 90's kids show. On the floor is a plastic sheet covering everything, Oleg ends up stealing the woman's cell phone and calling his best friends mom to come get him.
Upon arriving the mother searches the home and eventually comes to the conclusion that these people have no kids, in the play room she finds Oleg in a closet with a bag over his head, she performs CPR hastily and he comes to. She then instructs Oleg to take the two other children and go downstairs and wait for her in the car, the entire time she is reviving Oleg he she is holding them at gun point.
When she searches the closet she finds DVD's in jewel cases labeled " Name of child followed by a star rating 1-5" as well as surgical tools that would be used to torture maim and kill them. Essentially these people raped, tortured, and murdered innocent children for their own sick pleasure of course you never see it but the whole scene leaves you feeling sick to your core.
She then calmy pulls out her phone calls 911 and gives them the address of the neighbors apartment and says " I heard gun shots " She then hangs up and kills them.
Now considering the theme of the movie being being a mob crime flick, has there ever been a movie which had a scene like this that is so out of place it should not even be in the film? good movie to watch on netflix but that scene gave me the chills.
