So, listening to the news yesterday afternoon and heard this story involving a London Ontario Tim Hortons and a guy having an asthma attack. I've posted a link to the CBC news story with the details.
Short version - Guy starts having an asthma attack and goes inside a tim hortons, asking to use the phone to call 911. He's directed to use a payphone instead by an employee. In the end a customer uses their cell phone to call paramedics.

Anyway, what would you have done as that employee?? I personally would have called 911 for the fellow. My understanding is there is some policy at TH regarding the use of company telephones and patrons. Ok... but what about common sense? Someone is in distress and yet you "direct" them to a payphone? Really?!? WTF.
