So I have recently been noticing a lot of weird and very specific ads. I don't know if it is like this for everyone on Windows 8 but I have just recently started using it. The ads are very specific......
I ordered a few tools from Sears the other day. Now a lot of the ads are for the exact tools I ordered. If FF knows I am searching this shit why doesn't it know I bought it? I have turned tracking off in Firefox. This has been happening over and over for the last few weeks. Maybe longer and I never noticed it. Now I just watched a YouTube video, actually two, and after it was over the little videos links, like a grid, that are there when a video is over has a Trace Bundy one in it. I have a Trace Bundy video linked to my YouTube account. That is the only video I have on my YouTube account other than my 2142 videos. I have never seen this before and I have watched a lot of YouTube videos. The weirdest and most concerning thing to me is I believe that either the mic on our iPhone is listening to our conversations and relaying them through our WiFi or the mic on the computer is listening. I know this sounds really weird and totally paranoid but here is what happened.....
My girlfriends car has a cracked windshield. We had been talking about replacing it, in the car the other night for the first time. It was on our way home. Neither of us have searched online about where to do this. That same night I turn on the computer, open Firefox and go to CNN or Fox news website. Three out of the several ads on there were for a local auto glass replacement company. Ever since that night at least one site I visit a day has auto glass replacement shit on it. WTF???? I am hoping this was just some weird coincidence.
Every Google search I do lately....dirt bikes.....there are tons of dirt bike ads. Snap-on tools, searched on my iPhone.....Snap-on ads on the PC.....TBG site. Shit I am searching on my phone is coming up on my PC.
Are the cookies from my phone getting sent to my PC? I don't have anything except iTunes on my PC. How can I get all these things to stop communicating if they are? I don't read the ads....have never really noticed them until they started getting so specific.
Another thing is the PC I am on is an HP. I don't know if this program, Mirage YouCam, is an HP or Windows 8 program. The fucking thing would just start running. It was disabled in start up. How the fuck is it running I was wondering....I uninstalled it. This is a HP Pavilion 20 All-In-One, so POS I understand. It is so slow and shitty though. Fresh factory reset. The webpages take forever to load, there are always programs that seem to be running in the background. So I pull up task manager and the amount of Windows processes running are taking up 40% of the CPU. I can't be in Teamspeak and play CS:S. I had a shitty Gateway when CS:S came out and I could do that. It seem like unless you're doing something with an ad on it this fucking thing doesn't want to even run. Teamspeak, Firefox and iTunes ripping a CD and it's at 98% CPU.
Forgot about this- There has been shit we have watched on the Roku box, next time on the computer......ads for it. TV shows, DVDs for sale.
Am I gonna have to go off the grid? LMAO Does anyone else experience this crap? Is anyone else concerned? I have kids to protect. I understand I'm using an all in one, and they blow, so I am not concerned about the gaming shit. It is more the ad crap and that if I am not just browsing the web the thing is overloaded. I can do more on a lap top than this which seems odd.
Thanks for reading the rant and if anyone has a solution lemme know. (besides buying a new rig.....I can get 2 or 3 more dirt bikes or a decent used snowmobile for the price of a gaming rig)
