The BLS released it's September jobs report this morning shocking the experts by showing the unemployment rate falling to 7.8%, the first time it has fallen below 8% in 43 months and matching the rate when President Obama took office. Experts are expecting the number to be revised back up to 8% after reviewing the data in the report which shows only 114k jobs created for the month of September, 10k in the public sector. The report relied on a survey that many experts consider "volatile", which showed a massive increase in the number of work from home, self employed and independent contractors. It also showed that the labor force rate rose from 63.5% (a 35 year low) to 63.6%. On average in 2012 145k jobs have been created each month. A very interesting jobs report at a very interesting time, there will definitely be more news on this in the coming days.
