This doesn't apply for nexus 4?

Normally other makes have their delay. Goes through a process which could take months.

Surprised Motorola and LG have on the spot updates for android

Nexus 4 is 2 generations old, check back in a couple weeks. Surprised the first gen Nexus 7 got its update already.

Motorola runs a close to stock Android these days, not much to change to get it out to their devices unlike bloatware whores like Samsung. Also a formerly Google owned company that built the reference device for Android 5.0, so absolutely no surprise to me.

You know what Doc. Do not attempt this on windows lol. Going for another round as soon as I image back to 4.4. It seems fastboot on windows is broken and even though I did a manual flash of each file... phone wont boot, wont go into recovery... yay!

A word to the wise. If you running a custom recovery, dont flash a 5.0 image without research.

I'm waiting for CyanogenMod 12. I'll let smarter people than me figure it out. Besides I'm rocking an S3 and Samsung we'll never update it.

As big of a fan as I am of CM. Might have better luck with another rom. CM11 isn't stable yet. Not on the Nexus 5 anyways. The N5 didn't even get a Monthly build today. They apparently no longer do "Stable" anyways. We are down to unstable Monthly builds off the stable branch of code. CM12 is as farther away than Soulzz' S4 update might be.

So what was the recovery issue? If I flash the standard recovery back should I be fine? Might as well get it figure out now as for the OTA, which won't have any fewer issues.

I guess if i wait until tomorrow evening the brilliant minds at XDA will have a how-to thread ready to rock and roll.

I dunno what the issue is. Apparently if certain files are in the rom it breaks recovery coming from a custom recovery. But I was trying to flash the stock recovery anyways. The fix was to flash a custom recovery and then flash cf-auto root before booting the rom.

So apparently I don't have a custom recovery installed. So I think I should be good to go for a clean install. Just have to figure out how to migrate my 2FA Google Authenticator over. Not sure if my Titanium backup will just work for that.

Anyone moved from one android device to another an knows how to not lose your 2FA setup? I don't want to have to go reconfigure all my 2FA logins.
