About to go to Micro Center for parts, need advice.

Yup. You'll want to make sure your bios is set to AHCI mode instead of IDE in the bios. If is set to IDE, then you'll want to do a registry tweak before switching to AHCI. You get much better performance out of SSD with AHCI. Great choice on the cooler and the ssd.

An SSD is always a great idea. Put your OS on it (either reinstall or move your primary partition over); you'll notice your PC gets switched off a lot more often. You won't mind rebooting, because it'll be over and done with in a matter of seconds. Every damn time. It's awesome.

I would get the swiftec h220 cooler a few more bucks. It's the best prefilled cooler money can buy. Plus you can add components to the loop later.Something you can't do with the H100i.
The Samsung SSD is a great idea.
